Update on the Imade foundation
Apr 27, 2010Dear Member/Supporter of Imade Asemota Foundation:
We are pleased to inform you of significant progress being made with Imade Asemota Foundation, a Not-For-Profit charity organization set up upon the legacy of Engineer Imade Asemota of blessed memory . The first year anniversary and sickle cell awareness expo activities begin in a few weeks in Raleigh, North Carolina and in Lansing, Michigan.
As expected, this method has proven to be most convenient for our members and individuals who share our enthusiasm in battling the dreadful sickle cell disease. All donations and contributions will be applied towards several projects we are working on, for examples:
1. To award scholarships and financial assistance to college (or college-bound) students struggling with sickle cell disease.
2. To provide significant funding support for a bone marrow transplant for a ten year old sickle cell patient.
3. To support the research Imade Asemota herself was engaged in at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (investigating the effect of platelets on neutrophil transmigration and understanding platelet-endothelial interaction during inflammation in normal and sickle cell conditions). Born with Sickle Cell, Imade was determined to be a part of the solution, but she passed on while carrying out her PhD studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan at the tender age of 24.
No contribution is too little. One US dollar (US$1) a month consistently given is a big help. Sickle cell disease has caused too much devastations for so long and it is the goal of this Foundation to work towards promoting the awareness of the disease (as a preventative measure), providing unrelenting encouragement and support to sickle cell sufferers, and encouraging research towards finding lasting solution.
May The Lord bless you and your family abundantly as you give to this worthy cause.
PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD!
Sincerely,
The IAF Executive Committee.
